Taxpayers urged to declare housing loan interest claims accurately

Saturday, 10 April 2010 07:03am PETALING JAYA: The public has been advised to declare statements and claims accurately to obtain tax relief on housing loan interest.Inland Revenue Board public relations officer Masrun Maslim said the board has received numerous reports from its branches on false declaration by taxpayers.
"We would like to remind that the tax relief is restricted to only interest on loans given by banks and financial institutions."
