JUDGES REMUNERATION ACT 1971

1A. INTERPRETATION
In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires--
"child" means a child of a deceased Judge-
(a) who is a child  under twenty one years of age and includes--
(i) a posthumous child, a dependant  step -child and an illegimate child of the Judge;

The above is an embarassing piece of legislation.In the author's  view it ought not to be legislated at all. There are other provisions already in existence covering  family matters. To pinpointedly legislate on this area raises other questions which somewhat mars the judicial office. Those sitting in the legislature need to face the realities of our day.
