A Aver Et Tener ( Latin- Habendum Et Tenendum)
Its meaning- " to have and to hold" usually spoken during marriages.
Its deeper meaning " when 2 people are united in holy matrimony, they must not only be able to have their partner in ritual but must have them in possession of their inward affections. It cannot be forced. Conversely, the "hold" follows after the " have". Not the other way around.
